"The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera."
Dorothea Lange

"The wonderful thing about photography is that serendipity will make the frame. But you have to be prepared to be lucky.” Michael Yamashita

“A portrait is not made in the camera but on either side of it.” Edward Steichen

Past and future don't exist but only in our minds and in pictures. Life is only what happens right now, in this very moment. My photography is a humble attempt to conserve time, to bring a little bit of today into tomorrow. Or, depending on the type of photoshoot, a bit of tomorrow into today.

Photography started for me as a mere hobby, and my first three rolls of film at 14 years old had a surprising amount of what I still believe to be good shots. Gradually it grew into a passion, and years later I felt it was time to transition from a career of professional book translation (English into Russian) into full-time photography, and recently also video production (both filming and editing).

I love capturing the spirit of people and places. If you would like a to have a set of gorgeous family or individual portraits, a photo of an interior (and exterior) of a home or an artistic and memorable wedding album, send me an email or give me a call, and let's co-create a set of wonderful images that you will treasure for the rest of your life.

As an avid world traveler, I have lived and taken photos in Eastern and Western Europe, in Southeast Asia, South and Central America. Aside from observing and capturing the culture through my lens, in every one of these places I have put considerable effort into learning local languages and customs, and well as religious practices, spiritual lineages, and general worldview of people around the world, in a humble attempt to answer one simple question: what does it take to be a truly happy and fulfilled person? This is a neverending exploration, but a truly rewarding one.

I am also deeply interested in various humanitarian projects. If you are working for an environmental, human rights or other good causes that promote peace, abundance and happiness for all, and you are in need of some great images or video production, please contact me, and I will be happy to offer my skills.
